Dewey's Candy

This cute candy shop just opened up in my neighborhood. Its such a magical little spot with a modernist five-and-dime feeling and piles of old-fashioned and nostalgic candies--Sour Balls, Necco Candy Wafers, a wall of licorice and taffy, C Howard's Violet Gum, Mary Janes, Bit-O-Honey, and the list goes on! I walked out with chocolate covered almonds and Red Hots. There is something about candy stores--they ignite fond memories and yearning. Dewey's store design features white lacquered tables with bowls of sweets, a barrell of Hershey's Kisses, and ceramic lollipops hung by grosgrain from the ceiling to create a confectionery installation.
