Bal D'Afrique

New signature parfum, Bal D'Afrique by Byredo picked up from Colette in Paris this summer. A warm and romantic vetiver inspired by Paris in the late 20's and its infatuation with African culture, art, music and dance. A mix of the Parisian avantgardism and African culture shaped a unique and vibrant expression. The intense life, the excess and euphoria is illustrated by Bal d'Afrique's neroli, African marigold, and Moroccan cedarwood.

Paint by Numbers

Image by Trey Speegle via 20x200.

A popular painting technique of the 1950s, we like the paint-by-numbers genre. This image is based on a backdrop the artist created for Stella McCartney's 2009 runway show.

Encore Melody Gardot

Images via last.fm

For your reading pleasure, the Times gushes about Melody--her concert was sold out tonight...aaaargh! Maybe one can make it to Paris in the spring to see her at the Olympia! I'm so excited to be this excited about an artist. Her album is a master piece. I love it when artists (when anyone, really) realizes their full potential. Plus, she's got such great style.....I curl up in bed with my computer like she curls up with her guitar.
